Visit to Swan Lake Nature Sanctuary
The older students, Gr 5-8, recently enjoyed an afternoon at the Swan Lake Nature Sanctuary. After returning from a trail walk, they spent time in the Nature House classroom, examining a variety of cells under a standard microscope, using nets to catch organisms from the lake and then using dissection microscopes to view these specimens in great detail.
It was a fun and informative outing, and the students seemed quite fascinated to learn what lives in our local bodies of water.
